ROSWELL, GA — Rapper and singer T-Pain says he was involved in a recent hit-and-run crash in Atlanta, and the culprit is reportedly in custody.

Popular entertainer T-Pain, whose real name is Faheem Rashad Najm, took to social media Monday to share the news that his truck had been rear-ended.

"God is amazing. I’m aight. Back to work," the "I'm Sprung" singer said in a brief video clip at the scene.

Amid several comments from his celebrity peers, Najm said the crash happened in Atlanta. Najm, his wife, his road manager and driver were traveling from the Hartsfield-Atlanta International Airport at the time of the crash.

"Also we’re in Atlanta a mile away from making it home from the airport. It was a ~2003-2007 silver Chevy SUV that probably looks like they hit something super hard and missing the grill," Najm said in a comment.

He showed a piece of a bumper laying on the road, which he said came off of the vehicle that his truck. Najm added he was more upset that the person drove away from the scene rather than the crash itself.

Though he said he was grateful to be alive, he noted his driver had to "hauled off" by first responders.

The crash happened at 1 a.m. Monday near the intersection of Highway 92 and King Road, Roswell Police said in an incident report obtained by Patch.

The driver of Najm's SUV was taken to North Fulton Hospital after reporting back injuries and difficult breathing, according to the report.

With the aid of Flock cameras, and the assistance of an eye witness who followed the fleeing vehicle, officers were led to Brook Valley Drive and Oak Knoll Way, the report said.

They found a Chevrolet Tahoe with heavy front damage and a deployed airbag, the report said. Alcohol emanated from the SUV, the report said.

Police found 11 full bottles of beer and an empty beer bottle in the Tahoe, the report said. Police used a passport to identify a suspect, and receipts to locate an address for the suspect, the report said.

The suspect was identified in the report as Rene Galvan. With the assistance of Cherokee County deputies, who were requested to do a check on the address, Galvan was arrested, the report said.

According to the incident report, Galvan acknowledged having multiple beers and Tahoe keys were found in his pockets. Three beer bottle caps and a store receipt showing a beer purchase was also found with Galvan, the report said.

"Officers speaking with Galvan also noticed that he had urinated himself," the report said.

Galvan was accused of smelling of alcohol and having bloodshot eyes.

Fulton County Jail records show Galvan was charged on suspicion of driving under the influence of alcohol, possession of open alcohol container, following too closely and hit and run; duty of driver to stop at or return to scene of accident. Records show Galvan was released Monday.
