Description
GEORGIA — After a few days of sunshine, Georgia has entered a week of potential rainfall.
Showers and thunderstorms are possible throughout Tuesday in north and central Georgia, with the mid-morning probability lingering around 80 percent for metro Atlanta, according to the National Weather Service's Peachtree City office.
Strong winds could be associated with these storms, weather officials said.
Rain could pour into the metro before 8 p.m. Tuesday night, then patchy fog is expected after 4 a.m. Wednesday, according to the forecast.
The sky on Wednesday could be foggy then sunny, with the sun expected to shine Thursday before peaking through clouds Friday.
Then, a partly sunny daytime could turn into a stormy Friday night, weather officials predicted. There is a 50 percent chance for thunderstorms both Friday night and Saturday.
The chances decrease through the weekend and Monday; however, showers and thunderstorms are still expected in Georgia.
Rainfall should not be as present in the Savannah area as it is anticipated to be in metro Atlanta. But, the coastal town could get some rainfall Tuesday night and Wednesday.
After a brief period of no rain, showers and possible thunderstorms could return Saturday to Savannah.
